Chris B.Chris Briggs-Hale is a fourth grade teacher at Columbine Elementary School in Woodland Park, CO (2000 National School of Character). He is a former Senior Consultant at Mid-Continent Research for Education and Learning (McREL), a former Elementary School Principal, and served on the National Board of Directors for Community of Caring in Washington, DC. He is the recipient of the 2004 Sally K. Lenhardt Professional Leadership Award from Lesley University and the 2004 Community of Caring National Administrator of the Year.

Chris applies his experience as a principal, consultant, teacher, and parent to present proven techniques that guide schools in the application of research-based practices to support character education, mathematics reform, staff development, and whole school reform. He is the founder of the Southern Colorado Mathematics Leadership Institute and has led and conducted numerous presentations and workshops in over 14 states for elementary, middle, and high school teachers, administrators, and community groups on school improvement and reform topics.

When he is not teaching, spending time with his family, coaching, or plowing roads during a snowstorm, Chris consults for both McREL and Community of Caring. He lives at 9,135 feet on a hill next to Pikes Peak with his wife Catherine, and his three children.
