christine gehringer
Considered a passionate mover and shaker by those who know her, Christine Gehringer firmly believes, "Don't just do a job. Make a difference." Christine received her B.A. and Reading Certification from Rowan University. After teaching third grade for five years, she continued her education receiving her Masters Degree in Administration, Supervision and Curriculum. For over a decade, Christine enjoyed assisting children develop literacy skills and guiding program development as Radix Elementary School's Reading Specialist. Christine wore many hats, including Character Education and Student Council Advisor, making a difference in the lives of both students and educators. Developing staff in-services, serving as a Professional Development District site coordinator and sitting on both the district's Language Arts committee and Rowan University's Education Advisory Board are just a few of the other hats she wears.
She also took on the additional role as Head Teacher, enabling Christine to effectively support the Radix Elementary School's nationally recognized and emulated character education program. Christine was an active facilitator in the implementation of the Community of Caring Program throughout the four elementary schools and middle school in her district. She continues to strengthen and develop the unique partnership between the schools and community, serving on the District Character Education Advisory Board. Over the past few years Christine has presented at numerous state and national conferences speaking about Radix's Community of Caring program and how it addresses character as a way of life, infusing character into everyday lessons. At the 2007 National Community of Caring Conference, Christine proudly accepted the Community of Caring Lead Teacher of the Year Award.
