Tricia Fitzgerald currently serves as Vice Principal of Colonia High School in Colonia, New Jersey which is one of the three high schools in the Woodbridge Township School District. Colonia was recently named as a New Jersey School of Character. Tricia has been with Colonia since 1998 while her roles have changed from English Teacher, English Department Head and now Vice Principal. She received her BS in Accounting from Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania and practiced Accounting before returning to Kean University for her Post-Baccalaurate Certification in Education/English. She also received her MA in Educational Administration from Kean University. During her teaching tenure, Tricia was a coach for the softball team and the National Champion Coed Cheerleading Squad. Tricia became her school's character education coordinator when she became English Department Head. She stayed on as Lead Teacher when her school adopted Community of Caring five years ago. Tricia has represented her school and Community of Caring at various statewide character education events, at both state conferences and the National Community of Caring conferences. Tricia was named the 2007 Lead Teacher of the Year by Community of Caring and is also a trainer for Community of Caring.
